On What Grounds? is a locally owned coffee shop and breakfast stop in Berlin, Maryland. They are proud to feature Intelligentsia Coffee, roasted according to the highest standards and carefully prepared by their highly trained and experienced baristas.

In addition to high-quality coffee, they also offer a wide selection of specialty teas, breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and pastries, house made chocolates (and whipped cream!), and a heaping handful of small-town charm.

Located just inside the entrance to the Assateague Island State Park is the Pony Express Gift Shop. They feature a great snack bar, down home friendly staff, an extensive knowledge of the park and its wildlife, and great souvenirs to purchase to always remember your phenomenal time on the island.

Assateague Crab House (Open Seaonally)

Located on Route 611 just down the road from the Assateague Island State Park and National Seashore is one of the best kept locals secret. They serve fresh from the boat, all you can eat steamed crabs in a family run, family friendly restaurant. They also have some of the best crab cakes you'll find anywhere made fresh daily from the family's 60 year old recipe. Stop by and eat at a locals favorite!
